Description

TACFIT Kettlebell Spetsnaz 101 is a highly-anticipated kettlebell program that originated behind the Iron Curtain, presented by TACFIT Team Leader Matt Wiswesser

Originally developed by TACFIT Founder Scott Sonnon during his travels to Russia in the 1990s, this new introductory program is based on how the Eastern Bloc trained its athletes and Special Operations military branch (The Spetsnaz) to outperform, outlast and achieve accelerated metabolic conditioning.
Where conventional kettlebell programs can be tough and leave you feeling like you’re getting a great workout, there’s a glass ceiling to what you’re able to accomplish with brute force alone. TACFIT Kettlebell Spetsnaz 101 provides a fresh, new level of sophisticated programming to turbocharge your nervous system.

Matt Wiswesser
TACFIT Team Leader

My name is Matthew Wiswesser. I was first introduced to this system 10 years ago, when I got the opportunity to train with Scott Sonnon. My first workout was beta testing the Tacfit Spetsnaz program with him. We tested each level of it during the workout. I have been hooked ever since.

As a certified athletic trainer, I have used Tacfit to benefit the athletes that I work with on a daily basis. Having worked with a wide variety of ages, from high school-aged athletes to professional athletes, everyone has benefited from Tacfit. I have held titles of North American Director, along with currently being a Team Leader. I’ve also had the privilege of presenting at the Arnold Schwarzenegger Fitness Expo in a workshop on the injury prevention benefits of Tacfit.

Program History

Our modern-day kettlebell was first a Russian girya used to weight crops in the 18th century. A century later, someone in that same country had the idea to use the giyra for strength training and competition, and the lowly crop tool has never looked back.

In 1996, TACFIT Founder Scott Sonnon discovered the kettlebell in play during his travels to Russia. He knew he was on to something revolutionary. With assistance from two globally renowned leaders in kettlebell fitness – former USSR Spetsnaz Physical Training Instructor and Military Master of Sport Pavel Tsatsouline and World Kettlebell Lifting Champion Record Holder Valery Fedorenko – Scott deftly wove TACFIT protocols together with kettlebell training to produce the world’s first series, the Kettlebell Fitness Course.
