There is a difference between producing power once and being able to reproduce it with precision. Kettlebell Powerformance was built around that distinction. Designed by Coach Scott Sonnon, the program combines the mechanical lessons of Russian kettlebell training with TACFIT’s emphasis on technical quality, movement sophistication, and repeatable performance. The goal is not to worship one “correct” kettlebell style, but to understand the tool deeply enough to use the mechanics that best serve the task—building strength, power, coordination, and resilience through technique that holds together under pressure.
The training progresses through three clearly defined levels: Regression, Recruit, and Instructor, using six-exercise circuits performed for thirty seconds per side. Each complete round lasts six minutes, followed by one minute of recovery, with three rounds creating a focused twenty-one-minute session. Progression is earned through consistency rather than speed alone: when you can maintain good form, synchronized breathing, and an even pace through the entire circuit, you advance to the next level. When technique deteriorates, you regress immediately and rebuild control before adding greater complexity or load.
What makes Powerformance different is the way it teaches you to regulate your own performance from moment to moment. Breath, pace, structure, and effort become feedback rather than obstacles to overpower, allowing you to recognize when to press forward and when to downshift before fatigue turns quality movement into compensation. Over time, that discipline develops what Sonnon calls “powerformance”: power with poise, explosiveness with precision, and physical capacity that can be repeated rather than spent all at once.
