What is FlowFit?

Flow involves coordination, motor control, essential synergy, proprioceptive awareness, agility, balance, accuracy, timing, rhythm and sensitivity. Flow measures fitness as the ability to recruit multi-joint efficiency to move through multiple planes of motion with decreased total effort (called “selective tension”) and with greater ease and more imagination.

Flow exemplifies “health-first” fitness. It encompasses the full range of human movement, incorporating intuitive awareness, integrating structural alignment, synchronizing breath and allowing movement to become unbound in all its degrees of freedom.

Flow not only opens the body in all of its potentials, but it also challenges the entire system until you reach the pivotal internal event which unlocks flow. Using the Intuitive Training Principle, with less than an hour movement, you can create the biochemical environment to increase not only your fitness but your health and wellness as well.

Flow takes you beyond merely building muscle and burning fat. It teaches you how to access Flow in your fitness, and throughout your life.

As a result, this is not a conventional exercise system. Our ability to move through all of the six degrees of freedom in an integrated, efficient manner is mandatory for our health.

Flow enables participation when we are new to exercise when we are post-rehabilitation and even if we have physical and learning “disabilities.” There is an exercise option and flow sequence available for any fitness level and physical capacity.

Because Flow addresses each of the six degrees of freedom, amazing results happen physically by practicing the program. We only need to tap into our movement to unlock these benefits.

What Is Flow In Fitness?

Fitness is a vehicle for accessing flow-state through the integration of movement, structure, and breathing.

You can be fit to survive: to endure.

Fitness, then, is defined as the ability to continue existing and to reproduce.

You can be fit to work: to perform and produce. This next higher level of fitness is defined by the ability to function effectively and sufficiently.

You can be fit to play: to express and to enjoy. Generally, most people don’t worry about fitness here, because they’re too busy having fun.

You have be fit to flow: to serve. This highest level is innately maintained by having a positive influence on people around you.

FlowFit Certification is offered for:

  • Personal Trainers

Criteria for Certification

  • Desire to lead & teach others in Flow.
  • Own and have practiced FlowFit and 6°Flow.
  • Some experience in fitness coaching or personal training is strongly recommended.
  • Experience and interest in Circular Strength Training® (CST) and Prasara Yoga is helpful.

Preparatory Requirements:

  • Purchase FlowFit and 6°Flow (50% discount with your registration for the FlowFit certification course)
  • Practice Flow training as prescribed in the videos and books for a minimum of 1 month (3-4 months preferred).
  • Read and be familiar with Free to Move.
  • We also recommend reading through the Prasara Yoga book, and implementing Intu-Flow and Prasara Yoga exercises as a regular recovery practice prior to the certification.

Before certification you must be able to:

1. Be able to perform 7 continuous minutes of FlowFit at Level 3 with technique of 8 or higher (on scale 1-10):

  • Squat Series
  • Quad Series
  • Swoop Series
  • Climber Series
  • Tripod Series
  • Dog Series
  • Rock Series

2. Perform the 3 beginner level 6°Flow series component exercises with technique of 8 or higher (on scale 1-10):

  • Roll and Sway
  • Pitch and Surge
  • Yaw and Heave

FlowFit Certification Test

Demonstrate proficiency in all component exercises of FlowFit and 6°Flow.

Demonstrate an ability to safely and efficiently coach all component exercises with both groups & individuals.

Test: Perform 7 minutes of continuous FlowFit Level 3, including no less than 8 full rounds of the circuit. Breath must be at a level of Flow (explained in the 6°Flow manual) so that you have the ability to teach and communicate effectively while demonstrating. You will also be evaluated on your ability to safely instruct both the individual and group by delivering effective coaching cues to address breath, structure, and movement.

  • How to select & implement relevant joint mobility exercises and compensatory poses for specific limitations.
  • How to use components to build and break down complex movements into simple components so clients can progress incrementally at their individual pace.

  • Relevant cues and coaching strategies for effective teaching of groups and individuals.
  • How to market Flow and introduce it to your demographic.
